Dental implants are coming to DeltaCare USA

A new kind of DeltaCare® USA plan is available to you in 2021. Effective January 1, 2021, DeltaCare USA i‑series plans will be available with comprehensive coverage for dental implants. Once i‑series plan rollouts are complete (there will be nine in total), they will be available in all 50 states and Washington, D.C.

These plans are designed to address the growing demand for more affordable access to dental implants. Coverage for dental implants is a valuable benefit that employees ask for, so offering an i‑series plan makes dental insurance a more compelling choice for more employees. You’ll be able to offer a plan that fits more budgets than ever before but still offers cost savings, more choices in treatment options and coverage for procedures like teeth whitening.

These new plans will expand the coverage available to employees looking for more affordable dental insurance. For more information, please contact your account manager.

Big benefits. Big network. DeltaCare USA is kind of a big deal.

3‑minute read

When it comes to dental enrollment, more groups seem to prefer purchasing PPO plans for their enrollees. In fact, our actuarial data shows that within our Delta Dental enterprise, nearly 87% of 2017 commercial group enrollment was in a Delta Dental PPOTM plan. We don’t like to play favorites — all of our plans are designed to keep enrollees happy and healthy. However, we have to brag about our copay plans a little bit.

If you think copay is synonymous with skimpy benefits, we need to set the record straight. Our DeltaCare® USA plans are equipped with plenty of benefits and features to help groups attract top talent and keep enrollees satisfied. Here are a few that we’re particularly proud of:

Coverage as attractive as a healthy smile

Many of our DeltaCare USA plans offer benefits that stand out in the market. Just to name a few, they offer:

  • Teeth whitening
  • No cosmetic exclusions on molars (for resin or porcelain procedures)
  • Extra cleanings and deep cleanings (in addition to twice yearly) at reduced copayments
  • Copayments that include all lab and material fees (noble or high noble metal, porcelain and resin)

And our orthodontic coverage won’t fit in a bulleted list. Our plans1 cover all three types of orthodontics — limited, interceptive and comprehensive. Plus, enrollees in active treatment (banding has occurred) from either a PPO or DHMO group-sponsored plan have the option of keeping their orthodontist and paying only what they owe from their previous plan. This can provide a seamless transition — a true no-loss, no-gain transition as if the enrollee hadn’t switched plans.

Plans that are as easy to use — and easy to understand

Convenience and cost transparency are some of the best features of our copay plans. Each plan includes a full copay schedule that lays out exactly what enrollees can expect to pay at their dental visit.

There are no annual maximums or deductibles to keep track of, and our DeltaCare USA dentists will even coordinate specialty referrals for enrollees. So all they have to worry about is getting the care that they need.

Network access and options that make a difference

DeltaCare USA enrollees are able to select a dentist of their choice from our provider network, which happens to be the nation’s largest with more than 60,0002 locations. With so many dentists to choose from, enrollees can select a different provider for each member of the family. (But seriously, they can. How’s that for freedom of choice?)

And enrollees can select, or change, their DeltaCare USA dentist online or over the phone.

These are just a few things that make our copay product stand out in a crowd. If you currently offer enrollees a Delta Dental copay plan (or even if you’re shopping around), check out our website for all things DeltaCare USA, including a more targeted dentist search feature.
